Radboud Klazinga has worked at Van Till advocaten since 2010. He specialises in the fields of employment lawcorporate law and pension law. He assists both Dutch and foreign employers. He also acts on behalf of directors and managers.

“I come from a family of lawyers. My grandfather was a judge, my father was a notary, and there are several lawyers in the family. I’m really technically minded and I have very broad interests, including in business and technology. To combine these interests, I chose to study law – from which, by the way, I also took a break to sail halfway around the world. I have noticed that practising law brings together all my interests.”

Various legal fields

“I started out at a classic law firm: a grand old building on a canal in Amsterdam with men smoking cigars. I was given a lot of freedom in various areas of law, and worked for many different clients. I learned a lot there and developed rapidly.”

Specialist in employment law

“Through the years, I have come to specialise in employment law. This is a very dynamic and fascinating field. It’s also very broad. My work crosses the boundary between employment law and corporate law. This involves assisting managers and directors facing conflicts with their employers. I also give advice in relation to reorganisations and redundancy programmes, and I support companies dealing with works councils and trade unions.  I often act as a sparring partner for the HR department.”

Complicated issues

“Issues that the average employment lawyer is afraid to tackle are exactly the ones that fascinate me. I love solving complicated problems and complex issues. These may involve a manager whose employment has been terminated and who has complex pension problems, or a multinational where a director is in charge of multiple divisions, which means the company has to deal with employment law in various jurisdictions.”

Legal toolkit

“I see my years of experience as a legal toolkit. From local small and medium-sized companies to major international enterprises, I help solve problems with concrete solutions. I also enjoy helping companies work out how to expand in the future. At the same time, I enjoy getting to know an organisation and the people who work there well in a short period of time. I’m always interested in the entrepreneur’s story.”

Van Till DNA

“I moved to Van Till in 2010. This was a conscious decision. We are the right size to deliver top quality in all the legal fields that are important to entrepreneurs. At the same time, we are small enough to know our clients well. We know what they are up against. This is really the DNA of Van Till.”

“You’re very welcome to visit us for a coffee and to get to know us.”
